Two Dead Heroes is the second outing for DCI Day.

Three Royal Marines, recently decorated for bravery in Afghanistan, arrive in their home town on leave. Within hours, two are brutally murdered.

Terrorism is suspected and Chesterfield is overrun by reporters, Military Police and the Anti-Terror Squad. Local detective, DCI Derek Day is not convinced Islamic extremists are involved and sets up a separate investigation. While the outside authorities arrest the third Marine, a devout Muslim, Day uncovers a link to a secretive group of rich men who ride vintage motorcycles and have a bizarre attitude to women.

Attempting to build bridges between the angry local Muslim community and unsympathetic national police agencies stretches Day’s patience – but it’s manipulation by an unscrupulous millionaire that pushes him past his breaking point. Someone will suffer for that!
